In addition to a busy performing lifestyle, Mr. de la Garza believes fostering the next generation of pianists is an important part of his mission. Therefore, he maintains a small private studio with students ranging from all ages and abilities. His teaching philosophies emphasize the importance of self-awareness and focused, mindful practice in conjunction with a basic understanding of human anatomy and accurate body mapping. These foundations allow students to grow pianistically with freedom of expression and to acquire a deep understanding of the musical form of the works being studied. Mr. de la Garza perpetuates a positive learning environment based on mutual kindliness and respect.
